Individuals illegally mining gold in Navoi have been apprehended.
Large quantities of gold-bearing ores and special equipment were seized as material evidence.

Two cases related to illegal gold mining have been uncovered in Navoi region. This was reported to Zamon.uz by the DXX.
It is reported that during an operational event held in the region, the activities of a group engaged in mining gold-bearing ores and chemically processing them on state reserve lands were stopped.
This criminal activity was led by a citizen born in 1988, residing in the Paxtachi district of Samarkand region. He rented a building of a poultry farm located in the Karmana district of Navoi region and organized a secret workshop there.
During the operational event, 200 kilograms of semi-processed gold, 200 bags of sand and stones containing gold material, 300 kilograms of chemicals, specialized laboratory equipment, gas cylinders, and other equipment were seized as material evidence. According to preliminary estimates, the damage caused to state interests and the environment as a result of this case exceeds 7 billion soums.
Regarding this case, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 196² of the Criminal Code against the suspect, and investigative actions are being carried out.
Furthermore, a similar case was identified in the Navbahor district. In this case, the head of a local limited liability company organized illegal gold mining operations in the territory of the "Sarmishsoy" state museum-reserve based on a forged permit.
According to information, he carried out excavation work on an area of 8 hectares, involving 19 citizens. During the operational event, 6 kilograms of semi-processed gold, over 430 tons of gold-bearing ores, chemicals, trucks, loading equipment, and other machinery were seized.
According to preliminary estimates, in this case, mineral resources worth 6.1 billion soums were illegally appropriated.
Currently, laboratory tests have been ordered for both cases, and the amount of damage caused to the ecology and environment is being determined. Investigative actions are ongoing.
