President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed condolences on the passing of statesman and public figure Rim Abdulovich Giniyatullin. 

 

Labor Veteran Rim Abdulovich Giniyatullin passed away on April 19 of this year at the age of 83.

 

Rim Giniyatullin was born on September 18, 1943, in the Zomin district of the Jizzakh region. In 1963, he graduated from the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization (now the "Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers" National Research University) with a degree in engineering and hydrotechnics. 

 

He began his career as an ordinary worker at the Ministry of Construction of Uzbekistan and later served in this ministry as a foreman and chief engineer. He gained extensive knowledge and experience working in positions such as deputy head of a department, head of a main department, deputy minister of water resources, deputy chairman of the State Planning Committee, and deputy chairman of the State Agro-Industrial Committee of Uzbekistan.

 

The skilled organizational leader worked selflessly in responsible positions, serving as Minister of Land Reclamation and Water Resources from 1989 to 1996 and as Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 1996 to 1997, making a worthy contribution to the country's socio-economic development through the advancement of the water and agricultural sectors.

 

R.A. Giniyatullin worked in various leadership roles at the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea, showing dedication in developing practical measures to mitigate the negative consequences associated with the sea's drying up.

 

In the last years of his life, he actively participated in the processes of building a New Uzbekistan, particularly in strengthening an environment of peace, kindness, tolerance, and harmony in a multi-ethnic society, supporting the elderly and people with disabilities, and educating youth in the spirit of love for the Motherland and respect for national and universal values.

 

Rim Giniyatullin was awarded the honorary titles of "Honored Irrigator of the Republic of Uzbekistan" and "Honored Youth Mentor of the Republic of Uzbekistan," as well as the "Labor Glory" and "Friendship" orders.
