"There should be no issues with meat and potatoes" — Shavkat Mirziyoyev
Work in districts specializing in potato farming was assessed as unsatisfactory.

To meet the demand for potatoes, seeds have been planted on 118,000 hectares out of the planned 180,000 hectares for this year. This was announced during a videoconference meeting chaired by Shavkat Mirziyoyev, dedicated to a critical analysis of the first quarter indicators across sectors and regions, and a discussion of tasks for the remainder of the year.
It was reported that in Kashkadarya, potatoes were planted on only 41% of the area, and in Surkhandarya, on 44%. In March alone, potato prices rose by 12.4% in Surkhandarya and by 9% in Kashkadarya.
Work in the potato-specialized districts of Khojaabad, Andijan, Kosonsoy, Chortoq, Chust, Yangikurgan, Toshloq, and Fergana was also assessed as unsatisfactory.
Furthermore, instructions were given to increase the responsibility and accountability of the deputy governors for agriculture in regions that allowed negligence, as well as the district governors.
"I repeat: there is funding, there are resources. There should be no issues with meat and potatoes," the President said.
