Thousands of parts used in illegal weapon production were discovered in a secret underwater reservoir in the Pendik district of Istanbul. Haberler.com reported this.
It was reported that a water reservoir hidden underground was identified during surveillance conducted by police using a drone.
During the search, 3,092 parts used in the unauthorized production of pistols, 1,869 bolts (the mechanism inside a firearm that controls the loading, firing, and ejection of a bullet), as well as various other weapon components, were confiscated from the warehouse.
As part of the operation, 4 suspects were detained.
The Interior Directorate stated in a statement that this operation uncovered one of the largest quantities of weapon production parts ever seized in a single instance across Turkey.
