In the Tashkent region, water pipes worth over 3 billion soums were stolen.
A criminal case has been initiated against the head of the Piskent district water supply branch and other individuals regarding the situation.

A major embezzlement case was uncovered at a water supply facility in the Piskent district of the Tashkent region. This was reported by the Anti-Corruption Agency announced.
It is noted that the incident was identified during control measurements conducted in cooperation with the Tashkent regional department of the Department for Combating Economic Crimes and the compliance service of Uzsuvtaminot JSC.
The inspections were carried out within the framework of construction and installation works performed during the transfer of the "Sag'anak" water facility, located in the "Guliston" MFY area of the Piskent district, to the balance of the district water supply branch.
As a result of the investigations, it was found that the head of the Piskent district branch of "Tashkent region water supply" JSC, B.K., and officials of "A." JSC, having conspired in advance, excavated and embezzled 3 billion 78.4 million soums' worth of water pipes out of a total value of 3 billion 931.2 million soums, i.e., 14,800 meters, through misappropriation.
A criminal case has been initiated against the responsible individuals in connection with this incident under Article 167, Part 3, Clause "a" of the Criminal Code.
