Now in Uzbekistan, hanging laundry on the balconies of multi-story buildings is prohibited.
It is prohibited to install equipment that poses a fire hazard on balconies and loggias, and to store heavy items there.

New rules regarding the maintenance and use of apartment buildings have been approved in Uzbekistan. The Ministry of Justice announced this.
It was noted that the "Rules for the maintenance and use of apartment buildings" (registration number 3824, April 29, 2026) have been registered with the state. According to the document, the entrance hallways and staircases of apartment buildings must now be cleaned at least once a week.
According to the new procedure, building management bodies will maintain a general technical passport for each apartment building. They are also designated as responsible for ensuring the proper condition of load-bearing structures, surveillance cameras, and intercoms, as well as purchasing necessary household items and materials.
According to the rules, the installation of advertisements, posters, and other notices on the facades of buildings and in common areas will only be carried out based on a decision of the general meeting of property owners. At the same time, noise levels in residential premises must not exceed established sanitary standards.
Sanitary requirements have also been strengthened in the document. In particular, as needed, the common areas and adjacent spaces of buildings will undergo deratization, disinsection, and disinfection by management bodies. If water or wastewater accumulates in basements due to an accident, it must be eliminated within 24 hours.
Additionally, elevator rooms will be cleaned once a week, and elevator equipment will be subject to constant technical monitoring.
According to the rules, the following are prohibited in apartment buildings:
- installing equipment that poses a fire hazard on balconies and loggias;
- storing heavy items on balconies;
- hanging dirt, clothing, carpets, and other items on the facade (external) parts of balconies and loggias (the interior part is excluded);
- keeping pets in common areas, staircases, attics, basements, as well as in common kitchens, balconies, and loggias;
- storing flammable materials on staircase landings of entrance hallways and under staircases;
- carrying out redevelopment (reconstruction) works that affect general heating parameters, installing heating equipment on additional heating surfaces (non-heated surfaces), as well as making changes to heating systems that are part of the common property.
Furthermore, it is prohibited to park motor vehicles on lawns, boulevards, children's playgrounds, sidewalks, and opposite entrance hallways within apartment buildings and their adjacent land plots.
