Reports have spread on social media that a traffic police officer hit a pedestrian with a car in the Vobkent district of Bukhara region. The Bukhara Regional Traffic Safety Department has issued an official statement regarding the incident.

 

According to the information, the incident occurred on April 27, 2026, at around 09:05 AM on Imam Bukhari Street in the Vobkent district. An employee of the Regional Traffic Safety Department, Y. Mavlonov, born in 1987, while driving his own "Cobalt" car, hit a pedestrian born in 2009 who was crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing.

 

As a result of the incident, the pedestrian sustained minor bodily injuries. It was reported that the traffic police officer took the victim to the hospital to provide first aid.

 

According to the official information, the officer was performing his official duties at the time of the incident, was in a sober state, and had all the necessary documents to drive the vehicle.

 

A pre-investigation check is being conducted by the Vobkent District Prosecutor's Office regarding this incident.

 

Additionally, officials stated that reports circulating on social media that this incident is being "covered up" are unfounded. It was noted that investigative work is being carried out to take measures against the citizen who spread false information, in accordance with the procedure established by law.
