Troops have been deployed to bases in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Qatar, the UAE, and Kuwait for military operations against Iran.

The administration of US President Donald Trump is reported to have increased the number of American troops in the Middle East to over 50,000 amid potential military operations against Iran. Point.md reported this.
According to the publication, the US Navy continues a blockade in the Strait of Hormuz. Aircraft carriers, destroyers, Marine expeditionary units, and combat aircraft in the region have been placed on combat alert.
Representatives of the White House and the Pentagon are issuing various statements regarding the current stage of the operation. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Operation "Epic Anger" has been completed. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the main focus is on ensuring the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz.
Later, Trump announced that if Iran accepts the "agreed terms," he would end the war and ensure safe navigation for ships through the strait. He also emphasized that otherwise, bombings against Iran could begin.
The article notes that the US Navy has tightened control over ships entering and leaving Iranian ports. On Wednesday, US naval aviation reportedly stopped an Iranian-flagged oil tanker that was attempting to break the blockade.
Before the start of the war, the US military contingent in the Middle East consisted of approximately 40,000 personnel. This number later exceeded 50,000. The troops are stationed at bases in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Qatar, the UAE, and Kuwait.
It is also reported that about 2,000 troops from the US 82nd Airborne Division have been sent to the region. According to the publication, they may participate in operations to seize Kharg Island, which is considered important for Iran's oil exports, or to take control of military airfields.
Additionally, the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and US special operations forces have been deployed to the region. It is noted that the special forces could be used in potential operations against nuclear facilities in Isfahan.
Currently, the aircraft carrier strike groups USS Abraham Lincoln and USS George H.W. Bush are deployed in the Arabian Sea. The publication wrote that they have the capability to strike Iran using missiles and fighter jets.
