In Uzbekistan, a portion of the interest rates on loans for cotton and wheat growers will be reimbursed.

Farms that fully repay their loans by December 31 of the harvest year will receive compensation of up to 5 percentage points of the interest payment.

Starting from the 2026 harvest in Uzbekistan, new mechanisms for supporting farms will be introduced. This is stipulated in the president's decree "On additional measures for financial support of cotton and wheat growers," signed on May 8.

 

According to the decree, part of the interest on preferential loans allocated to cotton and wheat growers will be compensated by the state.

 

Additionally, a procedure for providing subsidies to cover diesel fuel costs will be established. In particular, farms that repay preferential loans taken for raw cotton production within the period specified in the contract will be reimbursed 2.5 percentage points of the interest payment.

 

Farms that fully repay the loans by December 31 of the harvest year will receive compensation of up to 5 percentage points of the interest payment.

 

Furthermore, farms that fully repay preferential loans allocated for wheat production costs by August 1 of the harvest year will be reimbursed 4 percentage points of the interest payment.

 

In accordance with the decree, part of the interest costs on commercial loans allocated to cotton-textile clusters and enterprises with a chain for processing raw cotton and producing yarn for purchasing raw cotton will also be compensated.

 

It is stipulated that the portion of the loan rate exceeding 8 percentage points but not exceeding 16 percentage points will be reimbursed.
