A person who threatened to distribute personal photos and videos and demanded money has been detained in the Olmazor district of Tashkent city. The capital's Department of Internal Affairs reported this.

 

According to the report, a citizen contacted law enforcement agencies, stating that a previously acquainted person had been keeping them under threats and pressure for a long time.

 

The suspect regularly demanded money by threatening to distribute the victim's personal photos and videos, which were meant to be kept confidential, on social networks.

 

It is noted that the suspect had previously obtained amounts ranging from $100 to $450 from the victim. Despite this, they continued to demand more money.

 

During an operational measure, the suspect was caught red-handed with material evidence while receiving $500 from the citizen in front of the "Nukus" cinema in the Olmazor district.

 

According to law enforcement agencies, the detained individual had previously been convicted under Article 277 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

 

Regarding the incident, a criminal case has been initiated by the investigation department of the Olmazor district internal affairs coordination department under Part 2 of Article 165 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and a pre-trial detention measure has been applied to the suspect.
