In Navoi, a traffic police officer who refused a bribe was awarded a $1,000 prize.
The father of a driver who was driving under the influence of alcohol offered a bribe to an Internal Affairs officer to prevent administrative materials from being sent to court.

In the Navoiy region, a traffic patrol officer who honestly performed his duties was rewarded with a monetary bonus. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported this.
According to the report, on April 7, 2026, traffic patrol officers on duty in the Karmana district stopped and inspected a Lacetti car traveling on the Samarkand–Navoiy route. As a result, it was determined that the driver was operating the vehicle while intoxicated.
Subsequently, the relevant documents for the violation were processed, and the car was placed in a impound lot.
According to reports, the next day, the driver came to the traffic patrol officers with his father. The citizen offered the inspector a bribe of $1,000 in exchange for not sending the administrative materials to court and releasing the car from the impound lot.
The officer reported this incident to the internal affairs authorities. During an operational measure, the citizen was caught while attempting to hand over the offered bribe to the traffic patrol inspector.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 211 of the Criminal Code regarding the incident. Investigative actions are currently ongoing.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Captain Sherbek Turkhonov, who refused to accept the bribe, was awarded a monetary bonus of 30 times the basic calculation amount, i.e., 12 million 360 thousand soums.
Earlier, it was reported that a businessman who offered a $30,000 bribe to an employee of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Tashkent was arrested.
