Nearly 4,000 creative works have been submitted to the "Golden Pen" international competition.

A briefing dedicated to the international competition for the XX National Award "Golden Pen" was held at the Uzbekistan Journalists' Union. It was announced that the document acceptance process for the competition has concluded, and information was provided on the number of submitted creative works and the composition of participants.

 

According to the information, a total of 3,905 creative works were submitted to the international competition this year. This figure is 654 more than last year, indicating that interest in the competition and creative activity have increased by 20.1 percent. A total of 607 participants are taking part in the competition. Of these, 53 are group participants, and 554 are individual participants.

 

The creative works were accepted across various fields of mass media: 1,288 in the print media category, 826 in the online publications category, 854 in the television category, 280 in the radio category, 210 in the photojournalism category, and 52 creative works were submitted for the nomination of the best book in the journalistic genre.

 

During the briefing, it was also emphasized that the international prestige of the competition is steadily growing. In particular, for the nomination "For the best material about Uzbekistan by a foreign journalist," 395 creative works were submitted by 86 journalists from 40 countries around the world.

 

Currently, work is underway to organize an impartial and fair review of the submitted creative works by the Jury.

 

Let us remind you that the winners and prize-winners of the international competition for the XX National Award "Golden Pen" will be announced and awarded at the festive event dedicated to June 27 — the Day of Press and Mass Media Workers.
