A 6-year-old Uzbek boy died after getting stuck between a tram and the platform in Istanbul.

A tragic incident in Istanbul, Turkey, resulted in the death of a 6-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan. This was reported by the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul here.

 

According to information, the incident occurred on June 8, 2026, at a tram stop located in the Laleli area of Fatih district in Istanbul.

 

Reports indicate that after the minor got off the tram, he became trapped between the platform and the tram rails. As the vehicle moved, he sustained severe bodily injuries and died at the scene.

 

It is stated that the deceased had come to Turkey as a tourist with his parents and relatives.

 

Currently, law enforcement authorities in Turkey are conducting investigative actions regarding the incident.

 

The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul expressed condolences to the family and relatives of the deceased and announced that necessary consular and legal assistance is being provided to them.

 

Additionally, the diplomatic mission urged that in large cities like Istanbul, minors should not be left unsupervised while using public transportation, and special attention should be paid to their safety.
