In Surxondaryo, three 18-year-old young men drowned.
The bodies of two of them have been found, and the search for the body of the third one is ongoing.
In the Jarkurgan district of Surkhandarya region, three teenagers who went swimming in the river drowned. The Surkhandarya Regional Department of Emergency Situations reported this.
According to the information, the incident occurred in the Surkhandarya River flowing through the territory of Namuna neighborhood. Six young men born in 2008 went to the riverbank. Five of them entered the water to swim, while one remained on the shore.
Due to the strong current in the river, the young men who entered the water found themselves in a dangerous situation. At the time of the incident, nearby residents managed to rescue two teenagers, but the current swept away the remaining three young men.
Rescuers and divers were called to the scene. During the search and rescue operations, the bodies of two young men were found and retrieved from the water.
According to reports, the search for the body of the third teenager swept away by the current is currently ongoing.
