Robakhon Makhmudova was elected as the Chairperson of the Supreme Court.
A submission was made to the Senate by the President regarding the election of Robakhon Mahmudova to the position of Chairman of the Supreme Court.

The President submitted a proposal to the Senate of the Oliy Majlis regarding the election of Robakhon Anvarovna Makhmudova to the position of Chairperson of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan [submitted].
At a meeting of the Senate Council of the Oliy Majlis, the candidate submitted by the President for the position of Chairperson of the Supreme Court was reviewed, and a decision was adopted to elect Robakhon Anvarovna Makhmudova to an indefinite term as a judge and to the position of Chairperson of the Supreme Court for a five-year term.
For reference, Robakhon Makhmudova is the head of the faction of the "Adolat" Social Democratic Party in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis. She also participated as a candidate from the "Adolat" party in the 2023 presidential election.
Previously, she served as the First Deputy Chairperson of the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan — Chairperson of the Judicial Panel for Administrative Cases, Chairperson of the Fergana Regional Court for Criminal Cases, Head of the President's Public Reception Office in Fergana Region, and Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Science, Education, and Healthcare.
Prior to this, the President had submitted a proposal to the Senate of the Oliy Majlis regarding the dismissal of Bakhtiyor Islamov, who had been serving as Chairperson of the Supreme Court. The upper chamber adopted a decision to remove him from the position.
