Turkish investors have been invited to become strategic partners in developing tourism infrastructure in Uzbekistan and attracting new tourists.

Turkish investors have expressed interest in managing the Imam al-Bukhari complex located in Samarkand. This was announced by Minister of Economy and Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov on June 16 at the Uzbekistan-Turkey business forum.
The business meeting was organized as part of the Tashkent International Investment Forum. According to the "Daryo" publication, Jamshid Kuchkarov in his speech invited Turkish investors to cooperate in a number of sectors. Kuchkarov noted that the tourism sector in Uzbekistan is developing rapidly.
According to him, confidence was expressed that the recently opened Center of Islamic Civilization, the Imam Bukhari and Imam Moturidi complexes will become centers of pilgrimage, cultural and educational tourism.
"There is great potential between Uzbekistan and Turkey in the field of tourism. We invite Turkish business representatives to implement joint marketing programs in the tourism sector, develop hotel and service infrastructure, and become strategic partners in increasing the flow of tourists from Turkey and third countries. There is great interest from Turkish investors regarding the issue of taking over the management of the Imam Bukhari pilgrimage complex located near the city of Samarkand," said the minister.
Within the framework of this forum, on June 18, after a panel meeting dedicated to tourism, the Chairman of the Tourism Committee, Abdulaziz Aqqulov, informed journalists that 24 hotels around the Imam Bukhari complex are being leased to foreign investors.

According to him, these hotels will be leased to investors for 2 years. Starting from the 3rd year, joint general marketing measures will be considered together with the hotel owners. Aqqulov stated that the partner side is obliged to attract hotel brands from various Muslim countries to the 24 hotels and promote them.
The Chairman of the Committee said that on June 15-16, the head of the "Ratan" hotel complex came to Tashkent and Samarkand, inspected the hotels, and conducted evaluation processes. He announced that they would carry out inspection work with their own inspectors in July.
According to him, representatives of the "Ratan" hotel have reached an agreement with representatives of 2-3 private hotels in Uzbekistan.
