JCH-2026. Uzbekistan lost to Portugal in the second round.
Uzbekistan will play its final match in the group against the national team of the Democratic Republic of the Congo on June 28.
The match between the national teams of Portugal and Uzbekistan, which took place in the second round of Group K of the 2026 World Cup, has concluded.
The match started with a quick goal from the Portuguese. Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring in the 6th minute of the match, while Nuno Mendes strengthened his team's lead in the 17th minute. Just before the end of the first half, Ronaldo scored again, bringing the score to 3:0.
Portugal did not lose their advantage in the second half either. An own goal was recorded against Abduvohid Nematov's goal in the 60th minute. In the 88th minute of the match, Rafael Leão put the final point. Thus, in a match where Cristiano Ronaldo scored a double, Portugal defeated Uzbekistan 5:0 and secured their first victory in the competition.
Uzbekistan, on the other hand, suffered their second consecutive defeat. In the third round of Group K, Uzbekistan will face the DR Congo, while Portugal will take on Colombia.
