Uzbekistan is expanding international cooperation on circular economy and environmental management.
A number of initiatives have been put forward in the development of the circular economy through cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe.

During the working visit, the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Executive Secretary of the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), Tatiana Molchan, met with the Director of the Agency for Waste Management and Circular Economy Development, Sharifbek Hasanov.

During the dialogue, issues of expanding cooperation with UNECE on developing the circular economy in Uzbekistan, accelerating the digitalization of the waste management sector, strengthening regional cooperation in Central Asia, and supporting the establishment of a regional center for the Basel Convention were discussed.

The parties also emphasized the importance of Uzbekistan's cooperation with UNECE in the areas of circular economy, environmental safety, digitalization of environmental management processes, and the development of regional cooperation.
