The matches of the 3rd round in Group G of the 2026 World Cup have concluded. According to the results of the final round, Belgium and Egypt secured a spot in the Round of 16. Iran, meanwhile, kept its hopes alive of qualifying among the best third-placed teams.
In the central match of the group, the national teams of Egypt and Iran played a 1:1 draw. In the 5th minute of the match, Mahmoud Saber put Egypt ahead on the scoreboard, but shortly after, Ramin Rezaeian restored the balance. In the second half, both teams had opportunities to secure a victory. In the added time given by the referee, Shoja Khalilzadeh's goal was disallowed due to offside, and the match ended in a draw.
