The chairman of the State Committee for National Security in Kyrgyzstan has changed.
Sadir Japarov dismissed the Chairman of the State Tax Service, Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov, from his position due to his transfer to another job.

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov has dismissed the Chairman of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of the country, Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov, from his position. This was reported on the president's official website.
According to the presidential decree, the decision to dismiss Shabdanbekov from his post was made in connection with his transfer to another position.
Additionally, Sadyr Japarov accepted the resignation of Kyrgyzstan's Prosecutor General, Maksat Asanaliev, and appointed him as acting Chairman of the State Committee for National Security.
"In accordance with the Decree signed by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, and pursuant to Article 70, Part 1, Clause 2 and Article 71 of the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic, Maksat Kubatovich Asanaliev has been appointed as acting Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic. The candidacy of Maksat Kubatovich Asanaliev for the position of Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic will be submitted to the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic for approval," the statement reads.
For reference, in February 2026, after Kamchybek Tashiev was removed from his post, Shabdanbekov was appointed as the temporary acting Chairman of the Kyrgyz State Committee for National Security.
Kamchybek Tashiev had stated at the time that he did not expect to be dismissed. The President of Kyrgyzstan indicated that Tashiev would not return to public service. Jogorku Kenesh deputy Elvira Surabaldieva announced that the former head of the SCNS was removed from his position because he had organized an attempted coup d'état.
Kamchybek Tashiev is accused of preparing to seize power by force and of abuse of official authority. Within the framework of the case, seven other former officials, including former Prosecutor General Kurmankul Zulushev and former Speaker of Parliament Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, are also being tried.
