In the USA, the Tate brothers were arrested at the request of the United Kingdom.

U.S. marshals arrested brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate, known for their activity on social media, in Miami based on an extradition request from the United Kingdom. CNN reported this.

 

It was reported that UK investigators reviewed complaints from seven victims regarding alleged sexual offenses committed in Eastern England between 2010 and 2017. Andrew Tate faces 42 charges, including rape, human trafficking, possession of indecent images of minors, and causing bodily harm. Tristan Tate faces 17 charges related to rape, sexual assault, and human trafficking.

 

The U.S. Department of Justice confirmed that the brothers were arrested as part of extradition proceedings, in accordance with international treaties and existing law enforcement agreements. They are expected to appear before a federal court in Miami next week.

 

The Tates' lawyer, Joseph McBride, stated that his clients are innocent and emphasized that there is an agreement between the UK and Romania that extradition should not be requested until the court cases in Romania are concluded. According to him, the judicial proceedings in Romania are still ongoing.

 

The Romanian prosecutor's office had previously accused the brothers of trafficking women across Romania, the UK, and the US for sexual exploitation. The brothers have denied these allegations.

 

Andrew Tate is also a defendant in another civil lawsuit in the UK. Four women have filed a lawsuit against him, accusing him of rape. Tate's representatives have also categorically denied these allegations.

 

According to Bedfordshire Police, the new charges are based on statements from four additional victims in the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire areas, as well as additional evidence gathered during the investigation.

 

The brothers, who hold US and UK citizenship, arrived in Florida in February 2025 after Romanian officials lifted travel restrictions imposed on them. Following their arrival in Florida, the state's attorney general's office also launched a separate investigation into them.

 

On April 4, 2026, Andrew Tate posted a video on his X social media account showing his visit to Uzbekistan. The video depicts him being welcomed at Tashkent International Airport with fanfare and dressed in a zar chopon (traditional robe).

 

This video sparked widespread discussion in the Uzbek segment of social media. The organization of such a ceremonial welcome for an individual accused of serious crimes on an international scale drew criticism.
