President Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated railway transport workers on their professional holiday.

In his congratulatory message on the occasion of Railway Transport Workers' Day, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated that work on modernizing Uzbekistan's railway system will continue, and announced that hundreds of modern passenger carriages and high-tech trains will be purchased in the coming years.

 

The President noted that as a result of reforms carried out in the railway transport sector in recent years, more than 2,400 kilometers of new railway networks have been built and commissioned, over 3,000 kilometers of roads have been electrified, and more than 1,100 kilometers have been rehabilitated.

 

The head of state highlighted that the Samarkand–Urgut, Baytqo'rg'on–Parkent, and Urganch International Airport–Khiva railway networks have been constructed, and the second electrified line of the Navoiy–Bukhara section has been put into operation. It was also reported that electrification work continues on the Maroqand–Navoiy, Bukhara–Urganch–Khiva, Miskin–Nukus, and Qumqo'rg'on–Quduqli routes.

 

Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that the construction of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway, which connects the country with international transport corridors, as well as cooperation with Afghanistan on developing railway infrastructure, is strengthening Uzbekistan's position as a regional transport and transit hub.

 

The President also recalled that the new high-speed "Jaloliddin Manguberdi" electric train, manufactured by South Korea's Hyundai Rotem company, has begun operating on the Tashkent–Khiva–Tashkent route.

 

The head of state announced that in the coming years, hundreds of modern passenger carriages and high-tech trains will be purchased, railway infrastructure will be expanded, stations will be modernized, and digital technologies and artificial intelligence capabilities will be widely introduced in the sector.

 

In conclusion, the President congratulated railway transport workers on their professional holiday and wished them good health, family happiness, and success in their work.
