More than a thousand tons of asphalt were embezzled in Jizzakh and Parkent.
A total of 1,174 tons of asphalt and violations involving 672.7 million soums of budget funds have been uncovered during inspections.
Cases of embezzlement of more than a thousand tons of asphalt involving officials of landscaping departments in Sharof Rashidov district of Jizzakh region and Parkent district of Tashkent region have been exposed.
During a pre-investigation inquiry conducted by the Department's branch in Sharof Rashidov district under the General Prosecutor's Office, it was established that responsible officials of the district's Landscaping Department, without actually carrying out asphalt paving works on 6 internal roads, sold 634 tons of asphalt worth 348.7 million soums for cash and used the funds for their own needs.
Additionally, during an inquiry conducted by the Department's branch in Parkent district, it was revealed that responsible officials of the district's Landscaping Department, acting in collusion, formalized fake invoices confirming the receipt of products, although 540 tons of asphalt had not been delivered by "G.W." LLC. As a result, budget funds in the amount of 324 million soums were embezzled.
Criminal cases have been initiated on these facts under Article 167 of the Criminal Code (embezzlement or misappropriation). Investigative actions are currently ongoing.
