A drone crashed onto a beach in the Russian resort of Gelendzhik, killing 7 people.
Another 47 people were injured as a result of the incident. Ukraine reported that the drone crashed due to the impact of a Russian army electronic warfare device.
Seven people, including three children, were killed as a result of a drone attack on a beach in the village of Arkhipo-Osipovka, located near the city of Gelendzhik in Russia's Krasnodar Krai. Another 47 people sustained injuries of varying severity. Vedomosti reported this.
According to the Krasnodar Krai operational headquarters, the attack occurred on the morning of August 3. Initially, 13 injured individuals were reported, but the number of casualties and injured was later clarified.
According to Alexey Bogodistov, head of the Gelendzhik resort city, 21 of the injured were hospitalized, and 19 received outpatient medical care.
Following the incident, an operational headquarters was established in Arkhipo-Osipovka. A specialized emergency medicine team was dispatched to the scene. Ambulance brigades from Gelendzhik, Tuapse, and Krasnodar were also involved.
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also responded to the incident. Official spokesperson Maria Zakharova accused NATO and the European Union of retreating from their previously stated position on terrorism.
Ukrainian Telegram channels claim that the drone lost control due to electronic warfare (EW) measures and crashed onto the beach.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, during the night of August 3, the Krasnodar Krai and the Black Sea water area were attacked by drones from Ukraine. The ministry stated that unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed in the skies over these areas, with a total of 131 drones shot down over Russian territory.
