Another global initiative of the President of Uzbekistan was widely recognized and adopted at the UN.

The UN General Assembly adopted the resolution "On Strengthening the Role of Parliaments in Accelerating Social Development" at its meeting in New York, with an absolute majority of member states voting in favor.

This initiative was first put forward by the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in his speech at the 75th session of the UN General Assembly in September 2020. As a result of diplomatic efforts carried out in subsequent years, this idea was formulated as a draft resolution and supported by UN member states.

The resolution specifically highlights the significance of the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union held in Tashkent, as well as the Tashkent Declaration adopted at its conclusion.

The document is aimed at strengthening the role of parliaments in social development, expanding the participation of women and youth in parliamentary activities, supporting developing countries, and fostering international cooperation in the social sphere.

During the vote on the resolution, 167 countries voted in favor. Sixty-one countries, including Austria, Germany, China, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, and Spain, joined as co-authors of the document.

It is noted that the adoption of this resolution reflects the international support for the initiatives put forward by Uzbekistan, as well as recognition of the country's efforts in the areas of inter-parliamentary cooperation and social development.
