Safe and modern public spaces will be established in Tashkent.

The mayor of Tashkent city, Shavkat Umurzakov, together with Aziz Azimov, first deputy head of the department for public safety and rule of law issues of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, heads of city departments, relevant agencies, and district administrations, reviewed projects aimed at creating modern, safe, and accessible public spaces in the capital.

First, samples of proposed equipment for children's and sports playgrounds in the capital's courtyards were examined. Special attention was paid to the quality of the structures, safe surfacing, durability, and the conditions to be created for citizens with disabilities. Responsible officials were tasked with building playgrounds that meet modern safety, quality, and inclusivity requirements.

Following this, a 24/7 public space being organized in certain sections of Yangishahar and Amir Temur streets in the Yunusabad district was reviewed. Landscaping, construction of pedestrian walkways, placement of service facilities, lighting, greening, and security measures in the area were discussed. Specific instructions were given to those responsible to eliminate identified shortcomings.

Additionally, work has begun on the comprehensive development of the area adjacent to the scientific and educational memorial complex named after the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov, and its transformation into an open public park.

Within the framework of the project, it is planned to remove the fence barriers surrounding the park, create convenient access paths and a unified pedestrian network, and establish a barrier-free environment for persons with disabilities, the elderly, families with children, and those arriving with strollers. Furthermore, it is envisaged to preserve green areas, organize walking and leisure spots, and install modern lighting, navigation, and security systems.

It was noted that the main goal of the ongoing projects is not merely to beautify areas, but to create safe, comfortable, and open public spaces that the capital's residents can use every day.
