President Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the winners and prize-winners of the national professional skills competition “Builders of New Uzbekistan”.
In his address, the head of state emphasized that the modern economy, digital technologies, and new enterprises require the training and encouragement of competitive specialists who are masters of their profession.
The competition, organized for the first time for the Presidential Award, was held in three stages. In its initial stage — at the district and city level — more than 124,000 young people participated. In the regional stage, nearly 7,000 participants took part, of whom 3,500 were self-employed youth from mahallas.
During the competition, opportunities were created for 22,000 young people to work, study, or find their place in the labor market.
Additionally, nearly 8,900 participants were given referrals for employment, and 4,470 young people were recommended for studies at technical colleges. About 8,340 young people planning to work abroad were directed to selections by foreign employers. At the end of the competition, 120 participants in 10 professional fields were recognized as winners and prize-winners.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted the need to form the national team of Uzbekistan from among the winners and participants who achieved high results, and to prepare them for the international WorldSkills International competition.
For this purpose, it is planned to involve the strongest local and foreign experts and provide the team with modern equipment and a training base.
The President called on young people to acquire new knowledge and technologies, learn foreign languages, and become advanced specialists in their professions.
