The number of Uzbek citizens killed in the drone attack in Tatarstan has reached 8.

In accordance with the instruction of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a Government Commission has been established to provide assistance to the affected Uzbek citizens and to bring back the deceased citizens.

On August 10, the number of Uzbek citizens killed in a drone attack in the city of Nizhnekamsk, Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, has reached 8. Several more Uzbek citizens have been hospitalized with injuries of varying severity. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported this.

 

According to the ministry, the deceased citizens were working as builders at one of the construction enterprises in the Nizhnekamsk area.

 

Following the incident, in accordance with the instruction of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers was adopted to establish a Government commission led by Deputy Prime Minister Ochilboy Ramatov.

 

The commission has been tasked with checking on the condition of injured citizens, providing them with necessary medical and other assistance, repatriating the deceased Uzbek citizens to Uzbekistan via a special flight, and supporting the families of the deceased.

 

Additionally, a special working group consisting of representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the Migration Agency, and other organizations has been sent to Russia.

 

Currently, representatives of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Kazan and the Migration Agency are at the scene, taking necessary measures in cooperation with the Russian side.

Earlier, it was reported that 7 Uzbek citizens had been killed as a result of a drone attack on a number of facilities in the city of Nizhnekamsk on August 10.
