How many days do Uzbekistanis rest on the Independence Day holiday?
Those who work 5 days a week rest for four consecutive days, while those who work 6 days rest for three consecutive days.

It has been announced how many days citizens will rest in Uzbekistan in connection with the 2026 Independence Day holiday.
According to the President's decree on establishing additional non-working days and transferring days off during the celebration of official dates in 2026, employees working a 5-day work week will rest for 4 consecutive days, from August 29 to September 1.
The days off are as follows:
- August 29, Saturday — regular day off;
- August 30, Sunday — regular day off;
- August 31, Monday — additional non-working day for all employees;
- September 1, Tuesday — Independence Day, official holiday and non-working day.
For employees working a 6-day work week, 3 consecutive days off are set from August 30 to September 1. In this case, August 29, Saturday is considered a shortened working day before the holiday.
September 2, Wednesday will be a regular working day for all employees.
