Electricity supply in Surkhandarya has been fully restored.

The blackout was caused by an emergency situation that arose in the Central Asian unified energy system.

Electricity supply in Surkhandarya has been fully restored.

On August 14 at 14:38, as a result of an emergency in the unified energy system of Central Asia, disruptions in electricity supply were observed in certain regions of Uzbekistan and neighboring countries.

According to the Ministry of Energy's statement, based on information from the company "Uzbekistan National Electric Grids," the emergency protection automation systems at power grids and substations operated in a timely and correct manner, preventing the emergency from spreading further within Uzbekistan's energy system.

Additionally, the rapid transfer of reserve energy from energy storage systems (BESS) to the grid played a crucial role in compensating for the lost capacity within a short period. These systems delivered energy to the grid in a very short time when needed, helping to restore power balance and prevent a sharp drop in electricity frequency.

It was noted that the electricity supply of the Surkhandarya region is primarily provided through two 500 kV power transmission lines. One of them delivers electricity from the territory of a neighboring country, while the second supplies electricity from the territory of the Kashkadarya region.

At the time of the emergency, scheduled repair work was being carried out on one of these lines. Therefore, the disruption in the line delivering electricity from the neighboring country limited the possibility of fully restoring the region's supply within a short period.

As a result of prompt measures, the 500 kV power transmission line under scheduled repair was brought to a state of readiness and restarted in accordance with safety requirements. After that, electricity supply in Surkhandarya was gradually fully restored.
