Turkey has issued an international arrest warrant for Netanyahu. The decision was made as part of an ongoing investigation into Israel's interception of a flotilla carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza. Turkey's Justice Minister Akin Gyurlek announced this, as reported by Arab News.
Turkey had previously issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and other senior Israeli officials on charges of "genocide" over their actions in the war in Gaza.
"We firmly reject the view that Netanyahu's government, which is implementing a policy of genocide in Gaza, can be considered untouchable and exempt from accountability," said Gyurlek.
The minister stressed that Turkey will not allow the concealment of crimes committed in Gaza or the impunity of those who committed them. Ankara stated that it will use all means of national and international law to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Gyurlek noted that Turkey continues to stand firmly on the side of the Palestinian people, the oppressed, and the conscience of humanity. According to him, all necessary measures will be taken to hold those who committed crimes against humanity accountable before the law.
The Israeli side, in turn, reacted sharply to Turkey's decision. Netanyahu's office called Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan an "antisemitic dictator" and stated that Israel will continue to act firmly against Ankara's attempts to destabilize the situation in the region.
