The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that a training-combat launch of a solid-fuel intercontinental ballistic missile was carried out from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome. Meduza reported on this.
According to the ministry's statement, the missile's training warheads reached the designated area of the "Kura" test range on the Kamchatka Peninsula.
The Ministry of Defense stated that the purpose of the launch was to confirm the tactical, technical, and flight characteristics of the missile system.
It was noted that in May 2026, a "Yars" intercontinental ballistic missile was also launched from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome toward the "Kura" test range in Kamchatka.
The Russian Ministry of Defense did not disclose the exact type of missile used in this launch.
