In the coming years, 7 national programs will be implemented that will further elevate human dignity.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted at the ceremony dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's state independence that a new era of the country's development is beginning.
The head of state noted that the coming decade will be a period of national ascension for Uzbekistan. It was emphasized that this period can only be built through the intellect, labor, and solidarity of the people.
To this end, 7 national programs aimed at further elevating the value of human dignity will be implemented.
The first national program will be focused on turning knowledge and skills into the main capital of the country's development. The coverage of 6-year-old children in preparatory groups will be brought to 100 percent in a short period. Existing benefits for establishing private kindergartens will be maintained.
All schools will be fully covered by international assessment programs. International educational standards will be introduced in technical colleges, and the coverage of training young people in high-income professions will be brought to 1 million people.
Additionally, the goal has been set to include at least 10 universities in the world's TOP-1000 list.
The second national program will be aimed at ensuring the population's healthy and long life. In the next five years, state expenditures related to public health will be brought to 5 percent relative to GDP. In medicine, there will be a transition to a health-preservation model by strengthening prevention.
State medical insurance will cover all households. In order to strengthen competition in specialized medicine, at least 5 of the world's most prestigious clinics will be attracted to Uzbekistan.
The third national program envisages transitioning the economy to a model based on high technologies and labor productivity.
In the next ten years, 450 billion dollars of foreign investment will be attracted. The goal is to bring the GDP volume to 300 billion dollars by 2030 and create 2 million high-income jobs in industry.
Startups, venture financing, and the development of artificial intelligence will become priority directions. A holistic ecosystem will be created for small businesses to grow into medium-sized businesses, and medium-sized enterprises into large companies and corporations. As a result, it is envisaged that GDP per capita will exceed 10 thousand dollars in the next ten years.
The fourth national program will be aimed at fundamentally changing the attitude towards water and nature. In the next five years, the coverage of water-saving technologies in crop areas will be brought to 100 percent. The nationwide movement "Yashil makon" (Green Space) will be taken to a new stage.
Green areas around schools, kindergartens, hospitals, and multi-story buildings will be protected. In the coming years, the level of greenery in district and city centers will be brought to 30 percent.
The fifth national program will be directed at strengthening judicial independence and turning the rule of law into a common value. Legal education will be systematically established starting from school. The legal guarantees of citizens and entrepreneurs will be strengthened.
The fight against cybercrime, drug addiction, human trafficking, the shadow economy, and organized crime will be intensified. Work on protecting the rights of women and children will be taken to a new stage.
The sixth national program envisages making the mahalla (neighborhood) the main customer of societal development. District budgets, investment programs, and infrastructure projects will be formed based on the mahalla's orders. The demands and needs of citizens and the well-being of the mahalla will be defined as the main criteria.
The seventh national program will be aimed at further elevating Uzbekistan's prestige as a land of peace and friendship, and a tolerant country.
It was noted that representatives of more than 130 nations and ethnic groups and 16 religious confessions live in harmony and unity in Uzbekistan.
