India and Uzbekistan Cooperation: New Horizons of Economic Development and Entrepreneurship

We have great hopes that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's current visit to Uzbekistan will be a historic event in every respect, elevating the friendship and partnership between our two peoples to an entirely new and higher level.

 

Thanks to our President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's open, consistent, and pragmatic foreign policy, the doors of world markets—particularly those of India, one of the fastest-growing economies in the world—have today been thrown wide open for Uzbek entrepreneurs.

 

As clear proof of this, we can see that the portfolio of joint projects between the two countries has exceeded 5 billion dollars.

 

Recently, on August 3, 2026, I personally participated in the India–Uzbekistan business forum held in the "Kamal Mahal" hall of the prestigious "ITC Maurya" hotel in New Delhi and witnessed the practical results of this high trust and pragmatic approach.

 

Within the framework of the forum, we held consistent negotiations with foreign partners and signed important strategic agreements on exporting table salt produced in Uzbekistan to the Indian market. This is evidence that the quality and competitiveness of Uzbek products are being recognized on the international stage.

 

Cooperation in sectors such as metallurgy, pharmaceuticals, and the agro-industry is creating new opportunities for businesspeople of both countries. The reduction of administrative barriers and the simplification of mutual market access are encouraging entrepreneurs like us to become even more active.

 

There is no doubt that Narendra Modi's visit will give a strong impetus to the full implementation of the agreements reached at the India–Uzbekistan business forum and to the further strengthening of our economic ties.
