The halalness of meat imported to Uzbekistan from India is being monitored.

Uzbekistan plans to expand meat imports from India and develop joint ventures in this direction. Minister of Agriculture Ibrohim Abdurakhmonov announced this.

According to the minister, joint ventures have been established and new agreements have been reached to bring relatively cheaper meat from India to the Uzbek market.

To ensure the halal status and safety of meat products, Uzbek specialists will travel to India and participate in animal slaughtering and meat preparation processes. Once the meat is provided with the relevant international and halal certificates, it will be exported to Uzbekistan.

Regarding logistics, trilateral cooperation is being established through Turkey, particularly using the port of Mersin.

It was also noted that trade turnover of agricultural products between Uzbekistan and India has more than tripled in recent years.

Currently, there is an opportunity to export more than 30 types of products manufactured in Uzbekistan to the Indian market.
