A 13-year-old girl from Uzbekistan who got lost in Istanbul and ended up at a mosque was handed over to her mother.
When the imam of the mosque reported it, diplomats brought the minor child to the consulate and contacted their close relatives.

The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul issued an official statement regarding the situation involving S.J., a 13-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan.
According to the Consulate General, on August 30 at 10:30 PM, the imam of one of the mosques in the Beyoglu district called the consulate to report a minor citizen of Uzbekistan.
Diplomats immediately went to the scene and brought S.J. to the Consulate General. Subsequently, appropriate measures were taken to identify and contact his close relatives.
On September 1, 13-year-old S.J. was handed over safely to his mother.
The Consulate General expressed gratitude to the relevant Turkish authorities and citizens who provided assistance in this situation.
