During his visit to Egypt, Chinese President Xi Jinping called on Middle Eastern countries to resist external interference and explore opportunities for establishing a new security framework in the region.

 

Xi Jinping emphasized that China is ready to work with regional countries to ensure the safety of maritime routes. He noted that this issue has become more urgent following the disruption of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab el-Mandeb due to conflicts.

 

During the meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, the parties agreed to strengthen cooperation in the areas of security and counter-terrorism. Additionally, issues of expanding cooperation on data centers, semiconductors, and supply chains for critical metals were discussed.

 

In recent years, Egypt has been actively developing economic and military cooperation with China while maintaining close defense ties with the United States. Beijing, for its part, is seeking to strengthen its role in the Middle East by leveraging Egypt's strategic location and regional influence.
