Next year, $10 billion in investment will be attracted to Tashkent
A new work system will be introduced to resolve investors' problems directly on-site, without having to go from office to office.
Next year, a clear plan will be developed to attract 10 billion dollars of investment to Tashkent city and create 150–200 thousand high-income permanent jobs. This was announced at a video conference meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the issues of socio-economic development of Tashkent city.
At the meeting, it was emphasized that a new approach is needed to fully utilize the existing opportunities of the capital's districts and neighborhoods, create added value, increase investments, and establish high-income jobs.
It was noted that each district of Tashkent should specialize in specific directions based on its potential.
In particular, in Sergeli, Yangihayot, and Bektemir districts, there is an opportunity to establish large logistics complexes specializing in sorting, packaging, distributing, and delivering cargo entering Tashkent.
It was noted that in Shaykhantohur, Mirzo Ulugbek, Mirobod, Yunusobod, and Yakkasaray districts, by increasing modern business and financial centers, it is possible to form a 2 billion dollar capital market and create 20–25 thousand high-income jobs.
In Olmazor, Chilonzor, and Uchtepa districts, there is the potential to attract at least 1 billion dollars of investment in education, healthcare, trade, and service sectors and create 15–20 thousand jobs.
At the meeting, it was also noted that this year it is planned to attract 9 billion dollars of investment across 12 districts of the capital. It was pointed out that in some areas, it is necessary to accelerate work to achieve the set indicators.
A new work system will be introduced to solve investors' problems directly on-site without going from office to office. Officials at the republican and city levels will visit districts every week, meet with entrepreneurs and investors, and promptly solve their problems.
On issues requiring higher-level solutions, substantiated proposals will be prepared on the same day and submitted to the Presidential Administration. This procedure will be under special control until the end of the year.
