President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the activities of the "ToshTech" Technical University
At the university, the first 400 students are studying on the basis of a 100 percent state grant.

During his visit to Olmazor district, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the activities of the "ToshTech" Technical University.
The university was established on the basis of the relevant resolution of the head of state dated September 8, 2025, and is aimed at transforming higher engineering education. The total cost of the project is 69.5 billion soums.

From these funds, the seven-story academic building of Tashkent State Technical University has been fully reconstructed and equipped with modern laboratory and educational equipment.
"ToshTech" is an independent state higher education institution in academic, financial, and organizational-managerial terms. According to the plan, by 2030, the relevant faculties and departments of Tashkent State Technical University will be gradually transformed into a new innovative ecosystem.

For the 2026/2027 academic year, 1,654 applicants submitted documents to the university. From among them, the 400 most knowledgeable and talented were selected and admitted. All of the first students are studying on a 100 percent state grant basis. This privilege will also be preserved for students admitted up to the 2029/2030 academic year.
At the university, education is conducted entirely in English. Along with local scholars, highly qualified foreign specialists are also involved in the classes.

Students study in four main areas — industrial engineering and management, electrical engineering, energy engineering, materials science and nanotechnology.
"ToshTech" was established in cooperation with international educational brands. The university cooperates with Shanghai Jiao Tong University (China), Politecnico di Milano (Italy), Constructor University Bremen (Germany), and the "Boston Consulting Group" company.

The university aims not to limit itself to theoretical knowledge, but to teach students from their first courses to work on real industrial projects and complex engineering problems. For this reason, cooperation has been established with domestic and foreign industrial companies so that students can undergo internships during their studies and be employed in the future.
In particular, "ToshTech" cooperates with major companies such as "ACWA", "UzAuto Motors", "Thermal Power Plants", and "Regional Electric Networks".

During the visit, the President was informed about the university's future plans. In a conversation with teachers and students, the head of state emphasized that "ToshTech" must become an innovative hub that trains a new generation of engineers who will take the country's industrial potential to a new level.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that knowledge and experience are the most reliable investment for a person.
"A person's property, position, or other material wealth may be temporary or may be lost, but the knowledge and experience in their mind and heart cannot be taken away by anyone or any force. Knowledge is a person's safest and most beneficial investment," said the head of state.
At the end of the visit, the President took a photo with the university students.
