Robots are preparing for real life: More than 70 AI training centers have opened in China
They are learning spatial orientation in real environments, grasping objects, and performing everyday tasks through thousands of repetitive exercises.
Special training grounds that teach robots to operate in real-life conditions are increasing in China. By the end of June 2026, more than 70 such centers had been launched in the country, and more than 40 others are in the construction or planning stage.
At these grounds, artificial intelligence systems teach robots spatial orientation, grasping objects, and performing everyday tasks through thousands of repetitive exercises. At the same time, large volumes of data on robot movement in real environments are being collected.
China currently has more than 140 companies manufacturing humanoid robots. In 2025, 14,400 humanoid robots were delivered in the country. This equals nearly 80 percent of the delivery volume in the global market.
The main task in the sector is to turn robots that can replicate human movements in laboratories into reliable assistants for use in everyday life. For this, it is necessary to give robots the opportunity to constantly practice in real domestic and manufacturing conditions.
According to data, state support is also driving the expansion of the network of such grounds in China.
