A truck arriving from Afghanistan was inspected: 52.5 kg of narcotics was found
42.3 kilograms of hashish and 10.2 kilograms of opium were found in packages hidden in the floor of a truck trailer that entered the "Ayritom" border customs post.

An attempt to import a large quantity of narcotics from Afghanistan into Uzbekistan was exposed in Surxondaryo region. This was reported by the press secretary of the Chairman of the Customs Committee.
On October 1 at 22:30, an empty cargo vehicle entering the "Ayritom" border customs post from Afghanistan underwent customs control. During the inspection, the signaling by the canine service dog toward the vehicle raised suspicion among customs officers. After that, the cargo vehicle driven by a citizen born in 1993, residing in Termiz district, underwent an in-depth customs inspection.
As a result, 98 packages hidden under the floor section of the vehicle's trailer were discovered. From 79 of them, 42 kilograms 335 grams of hashish were found, and from 19 of them, 10 kilograms 260 grams of opium were found. Thus, the total weight of the narcotics seized along with their packaging amounted to 52 kilograms 595 grams. According to experts' calculations, this quantity of narcotics is equivalent to nearly 340 thousand doses.
This case was identified through the cooperation of customs officers, military personnel of the Border Troops, the State Security Service, and representatives of internal affairs bodies. Currently, appropriate procedural measures are being carried out regarding the case.
For information, during the past period of 2026, in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, the customs authorities of Uzbekistan put an end to the illegal importation and hidden circulation within the country's territory of more than 1.9 tons of narcotics.
