Compensation for electricity and gas: 470 thousand households are planned to be covered
It was proposed to extend until April 1, 2028, the period for covering part of the costs of electricity and gas consumption exceeding the baseline norm.

On October 6, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation of proposals on social protection of the population, especially needy families, during the autumn-winter season. It addressed the expansion of existing support measures for payments for electricity, gas, coal, and utility services considered.
In particular, during the heating season, the proposal to increase the base consumption norm for electricity from 200 kilowatt-hours to 350 kilowatt-hours in areas without gas supply and where gas has not reached was approved.
Additionally, it was proposed to consider the issue of allocating one-time financial assistance to needy families in December.
The proposal to increase the income criterion used to cover electricity, gas, coal, and utility service expenses for needy families not included in the social register to 1 million 430 thousand soums per family member was also considered. Through this, the coverage of support will be expanded by another 166 thousand families.
Furthermore, it was proposed to extend until April 1, 2028, the period for covering part of the consumption expenses exceeding the base norm for electricity and gas. This measure is expected to cover 470 thousand families annually.
Work will also continue to provide thermal insulation and energy-saving equipment to 3 thousand households in mahallas with difficult conditions.
The President instructed the Government to timely allocate funds for the designated assistance, ensure targeting in identifying needy families, and monitor that the assistance reaches every family.
Instructions were also given on transforming enterprises producing and supplying energy resources, improving management efficiency, and reducing excess costs and losses in networks.
