Agencies assigned to the First Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Education and Science: the list has been approved

By the President's decree of October 9, the list of republican and local executive authorities and other organizations assigned to the First Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Education and Science Erkinjon Turdimov has been approved.

 

The following ministries and organizations have been assigned to the First Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Education and Science:

 

• The Ministry of Education and Science and its subordinate Agency for Specialized Educational Institutions, Agency for Vocational Education, Agency for Innovative Development, and Agency for Knowledge and Skills Assessment;
• The Ministry of Health and its system's Committee for Sanitary-Epidemiological Wellbeing and Public Health, Agency for Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry, and Clinical Audit Inspection;
• The Ministry of Internal Affairs — for preventing the spread of narcotic and psychotropic substances, harassment, and violence crimes among pupils and students in educational institutions;
• The Youth Affairs Agency — for expanding opportunities for acquiring modern knowledge and professions in educational institutions, and educating youth in the spirit of loyalty to the Motherland and respect for national and universal values;
• The Academy of Sciences;
• other ministries, committees, agencies, and inspections performing relevant tasks in the fields of education, science, and healthcare;
• the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, and the deputy governors of regions and Tashkent city for relevant matters.

 

The decree also defines tasks for cooperation with the State Security Service and the National Guard. Work will be carried out with the SSS to prevent youth from falling under the influence of harmful currents and extremism, and with the National Guard to promote patriotism and a healthy lifestyle.

 

According to the document, Erkinjon Turdimov provides general leadership and coordinates, within his authority, the activities of the heads of relevant ministries, committees, agencies, and inspections, as well as territorial governors in the fields of education, science, and healthcare.

 

The Secretariat for Education, Science, and Healthcare Issues established within the Cabinet of Ministers shall consist of 12 staff units. Of these, five staff units shall be formed from the Social Development Department of the Cabinet of Ministers, and seven from optimizing the staff of the reorganized education ministries.

 

The Cabinet of Ministers has been tasked with approving the functional duties of the First Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Education and Science and the new secretariat's regulations within two weeks. Control over the implementation of the decree has been assigned to Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and the Head of the Presidential Administration, Saida Mirziyoyeva.

 

We remind you that Erkinjon Turdimov was appointed First Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Education and Science on October 9. In this regard, he was relieved of his position as Governor of Syrdarya Region.
