The first children's hospice with its own mobile palliative care service is being established in Uzbekistan
Within the project, medical and psychological assistance will be provided to children at home.

In the Samarkand region, home-based medical and social assistance has begun for children with severe and incurable illnesses. More than 300 children in need of such assistance have been identified in the region.
The mobile brigade, which started work on September 28, includes medical specialists, social workers, and psychologists. They provide assistance to children at home and help alleviate pain and other disease symptoms. An individual care plan is also developed for the children and their loved ones, and parents are taught caregiving skills.
According to Shahnoza Mirziyoyeva, First Deputy Director of the National Agency of Social Protection, the goal of the project is to create an opportunity for families to receive assistance at home or in a hospice, based on the child's needs.
«We are powerless to change a child's diagnosis, but changing each of their days is in our hands,» she said.
«Inson» social service centers open an individual case for each child and assist in obtaining necessary social services and technical rehabilitation equipment. In particular, assistance is provided to supply children with wheelchairs suited to their needs, verticalizers, functional beds, and mattresses that prevent bedsores.
Currently, the construction of a children's hospice is also ongoing by the National Agency of Social Protection. The mobile palliative service and the hospice will be components of a unified support system aimed at supporting children with severe illnesses and their loved ones.
