Only a society that has realized its identity can build its own future
"O‘Z" is not a return to the past, but the idea of moving toward the future while relying on one's own roots.

Today the world is changing very rapidly. Technologies, the economy, cities, and people's ways of life are being renewed. In such a period, every state faces two great tasks: not to fall behind the times and not to lose its identity in this process.
The "UZ" philosophy put forward by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev unites precisely these two concepts at one point: Uzbekistan. Change. Identity. Responsibility.
Here the word "uz" (self/own) has not been placed at the center without reason. Because both the individual and society begin first of all with self-awareness. Who are we? Where did we come from? What do we rely on? What kind of state do we want to build? Without answering these questions, it is impossible to determine the direction of development.
In this sense, "UZ" is not a return to the past, but the idea of moving toward the future while relying on one's roots. Studying world experience, bringing in the most modern technologies, and deeply integrating into the global economy are necessities. But modernization does not mean copying someone else's ready-made template.
Uzbekistan must change. But while remaining Uzbek.
Because development that has lost its identity ultimately turns into imitation. And living only with the past and fearing renewal leads to stagnation. "UZ" expresses our own unique path of development between these two extreme points: relying on roots, opening up to the world, and building the future with one's own hands.
In fact, this view did not appear today. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said this back in 2017:
"If we do not change the situation ourselves, with our own intellect, with our own labor, no one will come from outside and do this work for us."
Years later, this idea is acquiring an even broader meaning today. Our own strength. Our own intellect. Our own labor. Our own responsibility for change.
Because development cannot be brought in ready-made from outside. No one will build it for us either. Development is born within society itself — from people's knowledge, labor, initiative, creativity, and confidence in their own strength.
At this point, another important meaning of "UZ" is revealed — involvement.
Where there is a sense of "it is mine," there is no room for indifference. You protect your own home. You are answerable for your own work. You care about your own child's future. In the same way, you do not stand aside from the fate of your own country.
Therefore, "UZ" is not merely an idea about identity. It is a philosophy of transition from being a spectator to being involved, from waiting to action, from remaining on the sidelines to responsibility.
Today Uzbekistan is in a period of great change. New cities are being built, the economy is being renewed, modern technologies are coming in, and ties with the world are expanding. But the main point that unites these processes does not change: we ourselves must clearly know what kind of Uzbekistan we are building.
We are open to the world. We adopt the best technologies, study advanced experience, and attract investment and knowledge. But we will still build Uzbekistan's future ourselves.
The goal here is not to resemble others, but to shape Uzbekistan's own unique development model by using world experience and modern opportunities. Renewal does not mean abandoning national identity. On the contrary, only a society based on strong roots and its own values can clearly define its path in the conditions of global change.
In this sense, the "UZ" philosophy calls for seeing the main force of development first of all in our own potential, knowledge, labor, and initiative. Determining the country's future and achieving the intended changes depend on society's involvement, initiative, and responsibility.
Uzbekistan — UZ.
Its own path. Its own choice. Its own future.
Ours.
