Drones attacked St. Petersburg: oil terminal and VK data center targeted
St. Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast came under drone attack.

On the night of October 18, the city of Saint Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast were attacked by drones. As a result of the attack, a fire broke out at an oil terminal, and VK company's data center was struck.
According to Saint Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov, fires occurred at civilian infrastructure facilities in several districts of the city and in the area of the oil terminal. Pulkovo Airport's operations were restricted from a safety standpoint. The governor stated that there were no casualties, and also warned that there may be disruptions to mobile internet.
Leningrad Oblast Governor Alexander Drozdenko announced that 126 drones were shot down over the region. According to him, drone debris fell on a multi-story building in the city of Vsevolozhsk, a private house near Kirovsk, and four cars in the village of Nizino. Due to debris falling on power transmission lines, short-term power supply disruptions were observed in some areas.
VK company confirmed a drone attack on its data center in Leningrad Oblast. The company stated that its services are operating in their usual mode.
However, monitoring sites recorded an increase in complaints regarding the operation of "VKontakte." Saint Petersburg's "Fontanka" publication also reported that problems with power supply were observed in certain areas of the city.
In addition, the Dnipro Osint, Astra, and Varlamov News Telegram channels wrote that one of the drones struck a cable-stayed bridge over the Ship Passage fairway on the Western High-Speed Diameter highway. Officials have not confirmed this information. According to "Fontanka," the section of the highway between Yekaterinhofka and the Shkipersky channels has been closed.
