President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Imam Bukhari mausoleum
Information was provided to the President on the work of developing the complex, expanding pilgrimage tourism, and promoting the scholar's scientific heritage to the world.

Traditionally, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev began his visit to Samarkand by visiting the Imam Bukhari memorial complex. Qur'anic verses were recited and prayers were offered.
During the visit, the head of state was informed about the implementation of the tasks set for the effective use of the complex, further enhancing its tourism potential, preserving, studying and promoting Imam Bukhari's rich scientific heritage, and developing Islamic enlightenment and pilgrimage tourism.
The country's leader emphasized the need to continue this work consistently.
"This great figure left us all his sciences and knowledge as a legacy. If we continue these sciences, we will never be lacking. I myself, every time I visit our great ancestor, pray that our people's lives be blessed, that one become two. We will do much more to preserve and promote the heritage of our great ancestors. We will create conditions for people from all over the world to come to Uzbekistan and see and visit the Center of Islamic Civilization and the Imam Bukhari Complex," said the head of state.
The complex, newly built on the initiative of the President, as one of the holy sites of the Islamic world, is always crowded with local and foreign pilgrims. While the complex previously served 12,000 pilgrims per day, today this figure exceeds 65,000.
The 10,000-capacity mosque, the grand mausoleum, four minarets each 75 meters tall, and the blue domes within the complex give the structure a special grandeur. The innovative museum, organized on the basis of advanced information technologies, extensively covers the history of our holy religion, the lives of the prophets, and Imam Bukhari's activity as a muhaddith, and displays unique exhibits.
At present, comprehensively convenient conditions for pilgrims and services meeting international standards have been established at the complex. More than 20 modern hotels operate in the territory of the shrine.
