The President familiarized himself with the changes in the Chim neighborhood
Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Chim mahalla in Qamashi district. 55 billion soums have been allocated to renew infrastructure in the area.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the construction and improvement works carried out in the Chim mahalla of the Qamashi district and the measures to ensure employment of the population.
Chim, which is being developed as a "mahalla in the image of the New Uzbekistan," is home to more than 5,500 residents, nearly half of whom are young people.
55 billion soums were allocated to renovate the infrastructure, and a 240-place kindergarten, a 640-place school, mahalla and youth centers, and a recreation park have been built. In addition, 4.5 kilometers of roads have been constructed, and the electricity supply and irrigation networks have been renewed.
The head of state talked with children and their mothers at the playground in the mahalla center. In the youth library, he showed interest in the goals and aspirations of the young readers.
During the conversation, the President recalled the works of Abdulla Oripov, Erkin Vohidov, and Halima Xudoyberdiyeva on the occasion of the Uzbek Language Day. He noted the growing attention to the language, national literature, and the heritage of our ancestors.
"Today, respect for our language, our nation, and our identity is increasingly rising. People are again striving to read books. We are restoring the spiritual heritage left by our forefathers. Such a spiritual environment and such conditions are being created in the Chim mahalla of Qamashi as well," said the head of state.
The President emphasized that higher education opportunities have expanded and that training knowledgeable cadres who love their Motherland is essential for the country's future.
"Previously, only 9 out of 100 young people studied in higher education, but today 45 are studying. Establishing higher education institutions and creating conditions for professors and teachers require great effort. But for the future of Uzbekistan, we need cadres who have national pride and love the Motherland. I believe in you. The future of our dear Motherland, the Qashqadaryo oasis, is in your hands," said the country's leader.
New opportunities have also been created in Chim to increase the population's income. 3.5 billion soums have been invested in a carpet-weaving and embroidery enterprise where women work. With the support of banks, greenhouses with a total area of 36 sotka have been established in about 20 households, and a 200-ton refrigerator has been built for storing products. Through these efforts, employment has been provided for more than 80 unemployed citizens.
In addition, lemon growing is being developed on a cooperative basis. Seedlings, fertilizers, and agrotechnical services are delivered to the population, and the harvested crop is purchased at a guaranteed price. By planting potatoes, broccoli, and greens between the lemon seedlings, an additional 14-16 million soums of income is being obtained from each greenhouse until the trees begin to bear fruit.
In the mahalla, 70 entrepreneurs have expanded their activities, and 20 new business entities have been established. The number of service facilities along the highway has increased from 31 to 137, creating more than 200 new jobs. 1,200 households in Chim and neighboring mahallas are growing the marshmallow plant, used in the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries, on a cooperative basis.
At the end of the visit, the President talked with mahalla activists and elders. They expressed their views on the changes in the mahalla and offered prayers for the prosperity of the country and the future of the youth.
