The Consulate General of Uzbekistan has taken further practical measures to repatriate citizens who found themselves in difficult situations abroad. This was reported by the Dunyo Information Agency.

It is reported that a young mother was detained by law enforcement agencies in the city of Novosibirsk, Russia, on suspicion of violating immigration legislation and placed in a temporary detention center for foreign nationals.

Her minor child was kept at the city's "Family" social assistance center during this time and was under the personal supervision of the Consul General.

As a result of prompt measures taken by Uzbekistan's diplomats, all necessary documents for the child were formalized, and the mother and child were returned to Uzbekistan on February 17.
