A criminal case has been opened due to an explosion in a multi-story building in Kokand.
An investigative-operational group has been established, and work has begun to determine and document the causes of the incident.

According to a report from the Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Fergana region, a criminal case has been initiated regarding an explosion that occurred in one of the multi-story buildings in Kokand city, Fergana region.
The criminal case was initiated by the Investigation Division of the 2nd Regional Territory of the MIA of Fergana region under Part 2, paragraph "a" of Article 259 of the Criminal Code (violation of fire safety rules resulting in human death) and has been placed under the control of the Investigation Department.
An investigative-operational group was formed at the scene of the incident under the leadership of Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Ramazon Ashrapov. Responsible officers were given tasks to document the scene in accordance with the requirements of the Criminal Procedure Code, seize items and objects important for the case, obtain detailed instructions from witnesses, determine the causes of the incident, and carry out other necessary investigative actions.
Earlier, it was reported that on February 25, an explosion occurred in one of the multi-story buildings located in the territory of the "Bostan" neighborhood citizens' assembly in Kokand city. As a result of the tragic incident, one citizen was trapped under a concrete slab and died at the scene. No information has been received about other individuals being injured. Several apartments were damaged as a result of the incident.
